Level Up! Weeklong Summer Workshops for 13 & 14 year olds

Feeling a bit too old for camp but too young for a job? Maybe it’s time to Level Up!

Level Up! At Parts and Crafts is three weeks of daytime in-person programming for kids aged 13 and 14 exclusively. Each week will immerse kids in a subject of their choosing

July 11th - 15th 9:30am - 2:30 pm

Kids aged 13 & 14 only

$300 plus $30 material fee for 1 TB external drive with software and to save files.

We’ll spend our mornings learning how to create a 2D platformer in Unity and our afternoons learning how to use Inkscape to create tiles, characters and other game elements. By the end of the week we’ll have learned the basics of Unity and C# and developed a small game using our own artwork. Requirements: no coding experience is required but kids should be able to read and type in English and perform basic computer tasks like copy, paste, save, upload, download, etc. without instruction. Kids can use our computers or bring their own (no Chromebooks please) They will keep their files on an external drive that they can take home at the end of the week. The most important requirement is that kids have a genuine interest in spending a week on this topic.

July 18th - July 22nd 9:30am - 2:30 pm

Kids aged 13 & 14 Only

$300 plus $50 materials fee for Arduino and components

They’ll finish the week by using a variety of materials to create a musical Arduino-powered automata that kids can take home at the end of the week. Kids can bring their own computers (Chromebooks are acceptable for this) or use ours. All of their files will be online and all projects can be kept.
