Feeling a bit too old for camp but too young for a job? Maybe it’s time to Level Up!

Level Up! At Parts and Crafts is three weeks of daytime in-person programming for kids aged 13 and 14 exclusively. Each week will immerse kids in a subject of their choosing

.

We’ll spend our mornings learning how to create a 2D platformer in Unity and our afternoons learning how to use Inkscape to create tiles, characters and other game elements. By the end of the week we’ll have learned the basics of Unity and C# and developed a small game using our own artwork. Requirements: no coding experience is required but kids should be able to read and type in English and perform basic computer tasks like copy, paste, save, upload, download, etc. without instruction. Kids can use our computers or bring their own (no Chromebooks please) They will keep their files on an external drive that they can take home at the end of the week. The most important requirement is that kids have a genuine interest in spending a week on this topic.
